Terms of Service
- Effective date:
- September 16, 2026
- Last updated:
- September 16, 2026
These Terms of Service are an agreement between you and Max4Biz LLC, a Georgia limited liability company, which owns and operates MATON. Please read them before using the platform.
Acceptance of these terms
By creating an account, signing in or using MATON, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.
Eligibility and authority
You must have the legal capacity to accept these Terms. If you accept them for a school, district or organization, you confirm that you are authorized to bind that organization. If you accept them for a child, you confirm that you are that child’s parent, legal guardian or an authorized school representative.
Children and parental or school consent
A child under 13 may use MATON only with verifiable consent or authorization from a parent, legal guardian or participating school acting within its lawful authority. Parents, guardians and schools are responsible for supervising the child’s use and may withdraw consent at any time.
Student, parent, teacher, staff and school accounts
MATON provides different account experiences: a personal student workspace, a parent or guardian workspace, a teacher workspace, school staff access and platform administration. Access depends on your role and on the school or family relationships that have been properly established.
Accurate account information
You agree to provide accurate information and to keep it current, including name, email address, role and any school or family relationship. Inaccurate information can prevent us from protecting the right people.
Account security
Keep your credentials confidential, do not share your account, and tell us promptly at hello@maton-edu.com if you suspect unauthorized access. You are responsible for activity performed with your credentials.
Role-based and school-based access restrictions
You may access only the information your role and school permissions allow. You must not attempt to reach another school’s data, another family’s data, another user’s account, staff-only tools or administrative functions you have not been granted.
Acceptable use
Use MATON for learning, teaching, family engagement and school operations. Treat other users respectfully, and follow the rules of your school when you use the platform for school work.
Prohibited conduct
- Harassment, bullying, hate speech, threats or sexual content involving minors
- Cheating in a way that violates your school’s academic rules
- Uploading malware or attempting to breach, probe or overload the platform
- Scraping, reverse engineering or reselling the service without written permission
- Impersonating another person, school or role
- Using the platform for unlawful purposes
Educational and AI-assisted content
MATON generates AI-assisted explanations, practice exercises, summaries, quizzes and lesson support. This content is an educational aid, not professional, medical, legal or psychological advice.
No guarantee that AI output is error-free
AI-generated content can be incomplete or wrong. We do not warrant its accuracy. Verify anything important before relying on it.
Teacher or responsible-adult review
Important academic decisions — grading, placement, promotion, assessment outcomes or disciplinary matters — must be reviewed by a qualified teacher or another responsible adult. MATON supports those decisions; it does not make them.
User-generated content and uploads
You keep ownership of the notes, documents, images, recordings and other content you upload. You grant us a limited license to host, process and display that content so we can operate the features you use, including within your school or family context.
Rights required to upload
Before uploading books, book pages, images, documents or recordings, you must own the rights or have permission to use them for that purpose. Do not upload material you are not allowed to copy or share.
Copyright and intellectual-property protection
We respect intellectual property and expect the same from users. If you believe content on MATON infringes your rights, contact hello@maton-edu.com with enough detail to identify the material and your claim. We may remove content and restrict repeat infringers.
MATON and Max4Biz LLC intellectual property
The MATON name, logo, design, software, curriculum structure and platform content are owned by Max4Biz LLC or its licensors. These Terms do not transfer any ownership to you.
Free Student Portal
The personal Student Portal is offered free of charge. Free features, limits and availability may change over time, and some advanced or AI-intensive features may require a paid plan.
Paid Family Plan and Family Kit
A paid Family Plan may add family features, and a Family Kit is a physical product that may be ordered separately. The price, contents and terms of any plan or kit are the ones shown at checkout or in your order confirmation.
Paid School Plan and School Kit
School plans, licenses, kits and implementation services are offered to schools and are described in the applicable signed agreement, order form or invoice.
Monthly and annual subscriptions
Paid subscriptions may be billed monthly or annually as shown at checkout. Subscriptions renew automatically for the same period unless cancelled before the renewal date.
School contracts
Where a school has signed an agreement with Max4Biz LLC, that agreement governs the school’s licenses, data handling commitments, invoicing and refunds. Where it conflicts with these Terms for that school’s use, the signed agreement controls.
App Store and Google Play billing
If you subscribe through the Apple App Store or Google Play, that store processes the purchase, manages renewals and cancellations, and applies its own refund rules. You may need to manage the subscription in your store account.
Web-payment processing
Web purchases are processed by an authorized payment provider. We do not store complete card numbers. The provider handles payment credentials under its own terms and privacy policy.
Renewal and cancellation
You may cancel a subscription at any time. Cancellation stops future renewals and normally takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
Refund Policy
Our Refund and Cancellation Policy is part of these Terms and is incorporated by reference.
Suspension or termination
We may suspend or terminate access if we reasonably believe there is misuse, a security risk, a legal requirement, a risk to a child’s safety, or a serious breach of these Terms. Where practical and lawful, we give notice first.
Account deletion
You can start deletion from Settings inside MATON or by emailing hello@maton-edu.com. See our account deletion page for what is removed and what may be retained.
Third-party services
MATON relies on third-party hosting, database, email, payment, video, security and AI providers, and may link to third-party content. Those services operate under their own terms, and we are not responsible for content we do not control.
Service changes and availability
We improve the platform continuously and may add, change or discontinue features. We aim for reliable availability but cannot guarantee uninterrupted service, and maintenance or outages may occur.
Disclaimers
Except where the law does not allow it, MATON is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, including fitness for a particular purpose, uninterrupted operation, or specific academic outcomes.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, Max4Biz LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, and its total liability related to the service is limited to the amount you paid to Max4Biz LLC in the twelve months before the claim. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.
Indemnification
Where legally enforceable, you agree to indemnify Max4Biz LLC against claims, losses and reasonable costs arising from your unlawful use of the platform, your uploads, or your breach of these Terms. This does not apply where the law restricts such obligations, including for public schools where prohibited.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, except where mandatory local law applies to you.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. We will update the “Last updated” date and, for material changes, notify account holders in the app or by email before the change takes effect where required. Continuing to use MATON after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
